Where to File Taxes

I HAVE to tell you about my awesome experience! It's tax season and everyone is filing for taxes. For many years we have used HRBLOCK but had to pay $300-$540 to file with them. Lots of people go to HRBLOCK cause they dont know how to file otherwise. We went to hrblock the other day and they said they could only get us back $1600 and that we would have to pay them $540 to file. We decided to look at other options and last night, TURBOTAX had an even in San Diego. They gave us a $20 subway gift card, water bottles, food, and drinks and they were able to get us over $5,700 back! HUGE difference when compared to hrblock. They were SO friendly and helpful. They even paid for us to file our taxes (which we would have had to pay $70 since we are renting out our house so it was a little more complicated). But they paid for everything! And everyone that was working there was a tax professional volunteering their time. They didn't even get paid to help us! Not only was their one person walking it through with us step by step, but at times we had multiple people look at our tax return to make sure we did everything correctly. From experience I can tell you it is super easy and it walks you through it step by step so you know what to put down and where. You can even talk to a tax professional like I did, and it is all for free! If you have insurance with USAA, you can login with USAA.com and click on the tax center which will be at the bottom and get your discount that way too. I will definitley be using TurboTax every year. Not only did we get over $4,000 more with Turbo Tax. It was FREE for us to use. Where with HR BLOCK we were only getting $1600 back and had to pay them $540 to file. Remember, you can go to turbotax and check and see how much you can get back before you file with them. So dont be afraid to just try it out for yourself!
